42,751 but not all things are good

amber November 24th, 2008

I’ve managed to get through 42,751 words so far this Nano, but really, my story hasn’t progressed as far as I’ve wanted it to. I think I’ve been so centered on getting in my wordcount that I’ve been truly forgetting the story and letting it go all over the place. I need to end up finding a happy medium in this, because in previous years I’ve centered on the story itself that I lose wordcount.

Oh well, at least I am keeping up with my wordcount, and whenever I do come back to this story, it should have good bones to pick apart and make something worthwhile.

Logging My Wordcount

amber November 3rd, 2008

This evening, Nanowrimo’s supposed to be adding in another server, which may fix the fact that I don’t seem to be be able to log into half the time:

Saturday - 2,453

Sunday - 1,741

Monday - 2,084

For a total of 6,278 so far. This is probably the best that I’ve started out on, ever, in my personal history of Nanowrimo.

Now, let’s see if I can keep it up and going. I’ve made a point of not reading through anything I’ve written so far, but I know that it’s ugly bad. Tomorrow I’ll be out voting, and I”m hoping that it won’t take too long, but I’ve gone ahead and taken the day off from work… maybe I can make a good dent in my wordcount tomorrow.

2,312 and counting

amber November 1st, 2008

I’m finally starting to get over this plague that seems to have fallen on my house this past week, and while I didn’t get a chance to start writing until this evening, being serenaded by lovely daughter playing (and singing) Cheetah Girls songs next to me for the first hour or so. But, I’ve gotten in 2,312 words after 4 hours of work, just before the end of the first day.

Not too shabby if I say so myself, considering what a hard time I’ve had in the past with first-day struggles.
